As of July 2018, the page speed will be an official ranking factor in Google. Taking into account the studies proposed by Google, 53% of users leave the websites that take more than 3 seconds to load.

This new factor will affect websites as well as the rest of Google's algorithms, and they will define the positioning of websites. The loading speed will not discard or favor the positioning in a unique way, as it will be influenced by the quality of the content and the rest of the factors defined by Google.

Google has developed two tools that help users calculate the loading time of their websites.

First of all, it is possible to analyze the speed of the website from the “Test My Site”. This site calculates the page speed time by simulating a standard 3G connection from a smartphone. This tool proposes a series of recommendations based on the analysis of the website.

The second tool also calculates the loading speed of the websites, but it also calculates the potential lost revenue from the slow website experiences.

Therefore, at Fragment Agency, as a digital agency, we advise you to follow the recommendations proposed by Google and improve the loading times of websites to achieve a better positioning in search engines.
